I interviewed João d'Ávila on July 12, 2022. At the time he was moving out of the house where he was born, a building in Campo de Ourique where he had lived for 88 years.
This very special occasion provided the opportunity for the interview I present here.
I invited my friend, filmmaker, and acting coach, Marie Brand, to come with me and film whatever she wanted, however she wanted.
We witnessed and documented the farewell to a home and the generosity of João d'Ávila, an artist reflecting on his life in this house and his long artistic journey.
